Auto On / Auto Off will the car have this option - I had read somewhare this was to be available on European version..... specifically the car would cycle off when stopped and power back on when ready to go?

The auto on/off option you mention - ie, the microhybrid - is only available in Europe at this time. SmartUSA is limiting its drivetrain option to a single version here in 2008, presumably to simplify the entire process (sales and esp service) during its intro. Hopefully in 2009 we might see a microhybrid, along with a turbo and CDI (all said while holding my breath!)
