Um... I'm not blind to any issues... I just haven't had any and I haven't seen any shortcommings other than the upcomming fix for the transmission programming... I love my smart and I understand what I got. Maybe you should have done alittle research before you bought it... It's exactly what was advertised.

The guy had a sucky situation and while I agree that things should have been done differently, he not only refused to accept any responsability, he also seemed to want everything done for him... that's not the way the world works. His expectations were out of line and his communication sucked...

This thread should be locked... the idiot... atleast one of them... is gone and nothing good can come of this thread now.

IMHO to be fair and accurate most people seems to be like myself, aware of the Smart (or any car's) problems and strengths and own it because the positives outweigh the negatives. You can be rational and still love things about a car, be a 'fan' while being aware of issues others might face or whose opinions might vary.

Now those specific things are subjective and people are not necessarily going to agree on those points, but that does not mean they are blind or drank the koolaid because they do not concede the same points. Sure there will be a some too ardent won't say a bad thing about the car they own types on any forum from Mini to Porsche, but it is not any more prevalent here then in any car community. If anything the Smart has garnered a high percentage of close minded blind haters as compared to many other cars.

In any case one has to be sufficiently respectful to be treated so it seems..

One has to be respectful of other humans, not an inanimate object like a smart car. Or a smart car company, the OP was never rude or disrespectful of any other posters. He was very disparaging of the smart and the home office and especially his dealership. None are individual persons, although under some circumstance a corporation can be considered a person under law, but there is no requirement to be personally respectful to a legal entity.

Look back on the posts, people were upset that he was assertive and negative towards his CAR!!! His CAR for heavens sake, not his wife or his dog but a machine! Some people here are so personally invested in this device that they are offended on a personal level when a stranger disparages his own personal machine. They acted like he had just insulted them not a collection of metal and plastic parts.

So you made up for him? I'm starting to think you're one in the same.

The short of it is the guy came on here acting like an idiot... then got pissed when everyone called him out for being an idiot... and now we have you implying that Jedi and I are blind idiots which I took personally.

Well, I am not going to sort through to reading his posts and responses, but honestly, right off the bat starting a thread saying "Don't buy this STUPID ______" in a roomful of people who own that item is assertively insulting and not what I define as respectful - especially when it turns out to be undeserved.

Look at it as if it were something else, you go to a type of watch forum and announce "Don't buy this crappy watch" with an attitude and in the end it is because the battery failed and that particular service center behaved sub par, how would that not ruffle a few feathers. Then selectively ignoring many helpful suggestions, overall it is not respectful of others in several ways, not just the car itself.. Anyway, you see my point, over and out.

Excuse me, where did I say you or anyone else was an idiot? You are the one who is throwing around the insults, not me. I did indeed refer to people who loved the smart and were blind to it's faults, but to leap from that to thinking that I was calling those folks idiots, says more about you than it does about me.
