smart center bloomington told me I had 30 days to decide on the warranties, including the tire/wheel package. Sounds good in theory, but the standard warranty covers roadside assistance for I believe the full 24 months. After that, get AAA for $50-100 a year depending on what extent of coverage you want, plus get discounts on many things you already spend money on. Then, they'll come tow ya, or fix your flat, or whatever for free.
I honestly don't think that the extended warranties will be worth their weight in US Currency. I'll take my chances on the reliability of this car. I should have a good feel after 2 years and 24,000 miles on how it'll do. If at that point it's that bad, I can sell the car if I'm over it, or get the same extended warranties. They may cost a little more per year, but then at least at that point I'll know it's worth it, AND I won't be paying for the first two years that are covered by smart anyway for free.
