Drachä tames the Dragon!!!!

We took Drachä up to Pigeon Forge for 3 days last week. Tackled any and every backroad we could find. The highlight of course was US Route 129... better known as The Tail of the Dragon. It's an 11 mile stretch of road with 318 curves. I can vouch that it can make you ill. It was out of season so the road was empty... and the stores at the top of the gap were closed... but we had a blast and most certainly will be back!!!

Here's a video from the top. The speed limit is 30 but I had a hard time getting to there... it's basically a slalom course.

It was just alittle cold that morning.

Had breakfast in Gatlinburg... no one was expecting the snow!!

Who know Jetfuel and Forest would make the trip??

Top of the hill... ready to go!!

Here we go!!

WHat are you doing taking pictures of the dash at 40 mph. Hand the camera to the pasenger next time.

6 deg and you were supprised by so called snow.

It lookes like a fun trip and the dragon looks sweet.

Nice job and a really great area to visit, too. Try it in the summer - lots of tourists to dodge - 8=))

The dragon side graphics really looks great too, Bill.

Looks like fun. I live less than an hour from the Dragon but haven't taken the Smart there yet. Lot's of trips in the MINI though. At least at only 6 degrees you didn't have to dodge many motorcycles. They fly through there in the summer. It's fun to see but a little dangerous if you're not ready for it.

Gbryers - Keep us posted on the proposed Dragon trip. Meet at the Biltmore? Anyway - we will be there for sure.

It looks something one would use a dash-cam for. There is a 3d camera that would be neat to use with something like that. It would give more depth to the video and give the viewer more of a feel for that road. I have a link to the 3d camera some where. Even a regular cam would be neat if used with the holder that has a suction for either the front or side window. I think there is a link to it some where on the forum.

Yo, CC! We'll probably do most of the planning on the club site:
smart CARolinas

Come on by! Not much happening there, but we are really just getting started.

But if/when we get something definite going, I'll post on the Carolina site here, too.
