Folks, I think we have a winner! I would drive a *long* way to go for a smart car drive in movie night to see the new Get Smart. And given that I don't count the 600 miles drive each way as much, that's saying something!

Great to see you back in the Forum! That NJ Drive-In is right here in Vineland. It plays first run double bill movies. Sound through the car radio. If "Get Smart" is featured, I'll be sure to post it in "BE THERE OR BE SQUARE". SmartBob, it's just a Yaris hop & skip for you.
Come on down!!!! T&J

PS: There is an all brand car show in Wildwood this weekend, but the weather isn't too promising; and most folks probably have Mothers' day commitments.

and at some of our ages and the size of the cars we might need a chiropractor on duty if we decide to "fool around" at the movie, but I think it could be great fun!

Anyone else think so??????[/quote]

My wife and I are both Chiropractors so we should be safe taking our new smart to the drive in. We could be on call for a movie night!

Back in your smart, open up the back end, fold the seatbacks to about 25 degrees forward, have some pre-cut foam to lay in the back, a few blankets, lay in the back and rest your head on the back of the seatback and enjoy the movie. For the cabrio's, you can open the top 3/4 of the way and enjoy the stars too.
I'm not sure how comfortable it would be... but it is an idea (whether good or not)

I think a recliner cushion would work in the situation or an out door store would have cushions for out door lounge chairs. Here is a Froogle results for recliner cushion and outdoor lounge chair cushions.

There is a drive-in in Delsea NJ; Delsea Drive-In.

I'd bet the smart is great for tailgating at a football game, 'cause you'll have half the parking spot to set up your tent and cook!

We are actually having a smart cars at the drive-in next Sat night Dec 6th down here in Lakeland Florida at the Silver Moon Drive-In. They still offer speaker boxes on a few rows and also have FM trasmitters for your car radio. Anyone in the Central Florida area is welcome to join us at 6:00 PM Sat, Dec 6th. Look up Silver Moon Drive-In on the internet for directions.

W O W ! I haven't been to a drive-in movie since the late '70s. Didn't know they still existed.

Aw, heck, I drive 50 miles just to meet a friend for lunch. But then I do live in Texas, where distance is definitely a relative thing.....

I'd absolutely drive 109 miles for a drive in Smart event.

If there were four Smarts in four adjacement spaces with the tail gates facing each other, it would have a lot of room for cooking. seats, tent etc. I think you have a good idea for going to foot ball games in a Smart and having a tail gate party. Perhaps have a 'meet and greet' at a game with the pre-game events using ones Smarts?
