also, autolights would require a sensor just light a street lamp, so it wouldnt be the same as DRL which is just a simple remapping of the ECU

Not at all. The point to putting DRLs on cars is to kill motorcyclists.

By adding DRLs to cars, motorcycles, which previously were among the few vehicles which burned headlights in the daytime, no longer stand out. In every country where DRLs have been mandated, there has been a directly correlated increase in motorcyclist fatality rates.

Was going to call on the DRL's, But you did the leg work. Can live with out them. I feel that it should be a free safety item, and part of the lighting system. Like most cars built. GM does not charge for it, as most either come with it or don't. PAG should just have them turned on for all the cars that were ordered prior to the anouncement they would be available. Like you and others, We were not given that option!! No biggey, really not that important, but shows how as a company they are No better with there customers.

New Configurers

One can only hope that the 2010's will offer free, and comfort package-compatible, DRL's!

Attention New Configurers:

If you choose Comfort Package, then select DRL's, the Comfort Package selection is deleted!

Just got off the phone with smartUSA

I tried to add DRL's to my configuration (I ordered the "comfort" package). I got a call from smartUSA stating the DRL's are NOT available with the comfort package; it's either or, but not both

for the misinformation earlier

i'm not convinced DRL's do anything for safety - tho i will admit they may have an affect on how safe a driver "feels".

something else interesting - i think i read in the manual or elsewhere that the oem fog lights would only work with low beams and will not work with the light stalk in *auto* mode. well, my fogs work with the light stalk in *auto* as well as working with either high or low beams lit. funny stuff. i'm not complaining or looking to have anything *fixed*, just an observation and information for the group.

My fogs work with the setting on "auto" as well. I suspect, what was meant, is that they won't work in auto UNLESS it's grown dark enough for the sensor to have turned the headlights on. ONLY then will you be able to switch on the fog lights. I think it was simpler and less confusing just to state: they don't work in "auto" position.

So the fogs won't come on unless the headlights are also on? That's the usual pattern.
