Smart09, where is this aftermarket kit sold and which models will it work on? (I apologize in advance if it's posted somewhere, but I couldn't find it.)

Will the kit work with auto lights?

Thank you for the link. I'd love to connect them to my rarely used high beams. (Particularly since I put the HID's on the low beams! ) There's not a lot of info on the site and there's no AutoBarn near me. Do you happen to know if it will still work on my '08 with the auto lights that come with the comfort package?
TIA,
Michael

That makes more sense but I wonder if the DRL feature is controlled by firmware (if so could you upgrade) or is it controlled by hardware.

This procedure works on my '09, but only after the dealer programmed my car for both fogs and DRL's in my brabus foglights. The foglights have their own DRL's, but I can also activate the headlight DRL's using this procedure. I was told the headlights are set at 50% power.

I was with the tech when they loaded the Jan software to my car. There is no option to program. The tech working on my car called the Smart Tech number at Smart USA in Michigan and they said all 09's have the software already and that is why there is no option to activate via software. The tech said to do the procedure I put in my first post and that will activate. The tech working on my car could not get it to work either. I then called the tech myself in Michigan and they faxed me the instructions which is what I posted. There is no software load for 09's. They have it already and are charging the $50 bucks to activate it. am calling him back Monday to tell him it did not work so that he can dig into it more.

You can buy it from the website and they could ship. And yes if you have the auto lights package. It will still works. Once the lowbeams turn on the drl's are deactivated and vice versa

I had DRL software update on my car today at the dealer. They charged me 50.00 just like the factory would have charged. I have tested the above instructions for turning on and off DRL and it works now that I have the software.

I attempted the stalk / alarm combination for activating the DRL. No joy on my 09 Cabrio with alarm and no comfort package.
