True, but there are options for having DRLs for fog lights to turn on when the car is turned on, not to mention the bright LED lights (however most of the LED lights don't look factory although the Brabus skirt has a perfect location for these LED lights).
I love my rain sensor, however I could definitely live without the autolight feature, because it doesn't turn on soon enough i.e. at dusk & dawn or just very cloudy. I'd rather kill the autolight function and have all the lights turned on full time including the fog lights. Seems pointless to have to turn them on and off or have autolight especially with these new Smart 61 amp hour batteries. Problem with most DRLs is they don't turn the rear lights on and people forget they have their lights turned off. I fear being rear ended in the Smart far more than I do getting hit on the sides or frontal.
A friend of mine got rear ended not too long ago in her Eos. She was stopped at a red light and a Navigator plowed her at 45mph. She's okay. Not saying lights would have avoided this as the driver was paying attention to her radio, but the Smart car is tiny and rear lights IMO are very important.
Does the Smart's DRL have the rear tail lights turned on or is it just the headlights?
