Dude, where's my car?

Can't believe nobody's used that yet, so had to do it.

But seriously, folks - my smart rep has no idea where the car is. It's been at the Baltimore port since December (!), I've got the VIN #, but apparently the dealers (or PAG) have no way to know when the car ships from the port? So, who arranges the shipment, gives the driver the different drop off locations, etc? Got to be PAG, but they aren't telling the dealers - or are they?

Any help would be appreciated, and thanks for your support.

John

Hey don't smart me, bro! I'm hearing that the dealers have zero idea about which cars, who's cars and when cars might be arriving.

I talked to my dealer and he is as frustrated as we are, his opinion is that smart is just overwhelmed by the demand and that he can not get any answers either. Hopefully it will improve.

Boat tipped over at the dock ?

Last week a boat carrying a load of BMWs rolled at the dock in NJ ,wrecking many new cars.

God, I hope they tie our little cars down well.

I read where the ports have body shops and they just bang out the fenders, and send them on to the dealer as new cars.

Frustrating to see cars being delivered in some areas with nothing in others all in good time I guess. 18 days at port seems a long time to me...

Well you can't push what the dealers can't control. And calling them everyday or every other day is not going to help much either. They are just as frustrated as you are because they can't get the info. for your car. Best thing to do is to waited out and hope your dealership calls you within the next week or so.

Things could be much worse

Do you folks remember about a whole shipload of new Mazda's that needed to be scraped? Freighter was called the Cougar Ace and it had listed 60 degrees to one side ... lets all hope our little smart's travel better!

yes, delivering cars takes time. I think someone left us last week with the impression that 2000 cars were going to show up at dealers this week, and some you've took the bait!
