The other day, I was checking out the engine compartment. Trying to hold back the carpet to fiddle with the compartment cover, I noticed on the right hand side a clip/hook thing, and on the car's wall right side what seemed like a receptacle for the hook. But, I got frustrated trying to get the hook secured into that thing. Is that what the design is for? If not, what are those TWO features for?

I didn't have the patience to practice getting the hook in the right spot. I just grabbed a very small bungee cord, put one end on the hook and the other on the door latch and it worked like a charm.

Thank you! That sure sounds better than the string I've been tying between the seat belt guide and the carpet handle.
Sometime I get the gas cap to set in its door slot. Yesterday it would go know matter how I mess with it. It was too cold and windy to jack with. I just let it dangle.
Who design that thing too.
