Ever had the local press want to interview you?

I got a call at work this AM wanting to speak to the person who owned the smart in the parking lot.

I said "that would be me!!". It was the local paper wanting to interview me about my smart. Nothing negative. Just wanted to know the good things about my car and my opinion. Got a few pics of me in the car.

We'll see if it makes print...

...seriously...back in 2000 the local newspaper did a feature for the up coming Brickyard 400 race called the Ford Fan Appreciation Day...the photographer took lots and lots of pictures...every time he changed the view of the car the paint did the color change thing on him....the final product on the paper...black and white....

About a month ago, I was working in my garage when a car came up my driveway. Now I live out in the "Boonies" so it's unusual for anyone to come up my driveway. Well, as it turned out, it was a reporter for a local paper. She saw the car one day in town, got the tag, and tracked me down. She thought it was the coolest car she had ever seen and wanted to do a story on it. I was too busy that day and was leaving town the next. I'll get back home today, busy tomorrow, then leave again the next. I told her if I ever get in town long enough to sit down with her, I would do the interview. From our brief conversation, it sounds like she wants to do a positive story, not "Let's bash smarts because they're small" story.

Problem with modern Newspaper stories. No matter how positive and acruate the story is (like that ever happens), the online versions are always open for comments.

I hate uneducated comments.

FRom the Artical ALSRAC did
Quote:
If they are in that car and involved in an accident it will be a bad one. They may be safe when they are up against all of those other little cars, but against an SUV, Pickup, Or larger car it will be a tragedy.
Also, my car will do almost that good in gas mileage and I paid $1600 for it. It also doesn't need premium fuel. It will run on the regular stuff.

Not that I want to discourage anyone fome talking to the press, But be ready to defend your story at the same time.

Make sure the website Safeandsmart is included in the artical
