You know, not really going anywhere. Just drive! Just maybe an excuse to break in your smart. I've been doing it. Mostly because I don't drive alot normally. Aka, I put 10k on a car a year if I'm lucky.

I've had it for one week and have 230mi racked up, half of which is from just going on a drive to nowhere around town.
Plus, he looked lonely...

That is something we used to do back in 1999 when Gas wasn't even a thought. It used to be a cheep way for me and the new wife to entertain ourselfs on the weekends. We would try to get lost and usualy just wound up discovering a Hyway we knew.

So if you just want to go for a drive, Try to get lost, its the best way.

I remember doing that, years ago...funny.... it sounds like a great thing to do again!

It's that we all get so scheduled and in the "I have to go to a certain point" mode, I've lost the joy of just going nowhere!

Thanks for reminding me of an important "old time" thing to do! I'll do it tomorrow!

Thanks for the post, OP. When I was a little kid (more than 60 years ago) every Sunday afternoon we'd "go for a drive". Brings back some really good memories. - sheureka

Find a small town about 1-1 1/2 hours drive away and go see what's going on.

It's not the destination but the trip that is fun.

At least once a week, usually more. Sometimes a short trip to nowhere on my lunch break, nice to get away from the work place, even if only for little drive.

I haven't done THIS yet in my smart: When my previous car was brand new, I once drove to Jacksonville (nearly 300 miles one way), had a burger for lunch, and drove home.

Doesn't everybody do this?
