excited about my wind deflector!

Going to order a wind deflector from Dave and I can't wait to get it! He is on this forum and is the Parts Manager from Santa Barbara California. My cabriolet is GREAT but I have shoulder length hair and it literally goes backward in my face when the top is fully down! I think this will really help since I read all the reviews on it.
Let me know what you all think of this add on. I am going to us the bungee cords I found at Home Depot that I read also. Should be great and I'll let you know how it goes!

Santa Barbara had the replacement covers for the roll bar when I bought my deflector from them, so I didn't have to use bungee cords. I love the deflector - and it's easy enough to see through that I just leave it on all the time. Enjoy! - sheureka

I purchased the wind deflector at the time of delivery of my Brabus cabrio back in April. I used the bungee cords as well. Over many miles of top down driving I found that I had to add a tie-wrap in the center of the netting and secured it to the roll bar. It would flap a bit sort of defeating the purpose. Once that was done, no more hurricane like winds inside the car with the top fully down.

Haven't Had That Problem...

If anything, my wind deflector is right on the verge of being too tight for the roll bar cover hooks; it's definitely a workout getting it hooked on where it needs to hook on to the cover.

But yeah; it works just wonderfully. Possibly the most useful accessory I've added to my Cabrio, next to the cruise control.

One of the reasons I never take mine off (though it has loosened up a little)! - sheureka

i leave mine on all the time.

several weeks back, i did discover that the wind deflector was not snug. it flapped around while driving. there was quite a bit of slack in the middle. i checked the bungee tie and it was fine. it turned out that the interior side panel was loose. i pound it back in place until it snapped back in.

That wasn't an option on the road trip; my suitcase had to go back behind the seats.

Now I don't know if I should have ordered the roll bar hook ups or not. I suppose I can always add it on later if the bungee cords don't do it for me. Already bought the "jar" of them at Home Depot.

The mesh wind deflector won't hook to the US-spec roll bar cover; it doesn't have the hooks on the top corners for the wind screen to fit over. You'd need the euro-spec roll bar cover for that.

(...Which is one bone of contention I have with this car company: Why-oh-why did the Giant Pulsating Brains in Ze Fatherland decide that the US-market cabrios didn't want/need/deserve the same windscreen/roll bar cover system as European 451s? I give that a giant-sized "What the ^&#$# were they thinking?", right up there with having no factory-offered cruise control...)

Euro Spec Roll Bar

My 2009 USA Brabus Cabrio came with a Euro Spec roll bar cover. Maybe hints of what is to come????
