I've had this problem after I got wax on the black plastic and just used black Kiwi shoe polish over it.IT WORKED GREAT BUT I had to use almost the whole can [small one] to do the plastic the first time .The water beads up great and is holding up very well.

Amazing, the range of answers given:
Scrubbie Wax Remover for black trim
Peanut butter
Mother's Back to Black
Pig Spit
ICE detailer
Painting black trim
303 Plastic Protectant
WD 40
ArmorAll Multipurpose Cleaner
Simple Green
vegetable oil
Windex
Kiwi Shoe polish

Lots to chose from. Only a couple are cures though, right? Avoidance (nearly impossible), and painting the black trim. Most of the 'cures' are temporary and have to be re-done periodically, even if no new wax strays to the trim. Seems somebody could build a better mouse trap. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.

I have the same problem, I sloppily waxed it a couple times last summer still have those white blobs all over. I tried a vinyl and rubber cleaner and it worked for a while but the blobs came back.

NCC1701 -

I waxed my ride the other day, got turtle wax all over the trim. I immediately Windexed it off though, and so far, I've got no discoloration. Just a tidbit for those who haven't yet got whiteness on their trim!

As for taking it off permanently, I think the shoe polish might do the trick. I used shoe polish like that on other plastics in the past that have faded over time or due to water spots and such and it worked like a charm the first time and never needed a re-coat.
