(Feel like you're driving a small car?)

I've been driving my new smart passion for 5 days now. It looks so tiny from the outside, but when I'm driving doesn't feel much smaller than my other car, a 2004 ford t-bird! The t-bird's as long as most SUV's, but turns on a dime and is also a two seater, so maybe that's it, but am interested to hear other new owners observation's:

What did you drive previously and how does the smart feel in comparison size-wise?

As for the Smart car.......NO it does not feel like a smaller car. Many others have noted the car is kinda like the front seat of a larger car cut away and put on wheels. Often when I walk away I go 'wow...a Smart is small'

I don't feel like im in a small car at all unlike some other compacts i been in. As a matter of fact, i feel like im in a much bigger car in the inside, adn the turning radius is really great.

It doesn't even look that small outside, to me.

When people (strangers) comment on it's small size, I tell the it's an optical illusion. It only looks small from the outside!

True! I never feel like I'm driving a tiny car.

I'm not thrilled with heights such as peeking over a 16 foot roof, yet when I looked down wards on the Empire State Building it was an abstract vision and it did not affect me.
I suppose the smart gives me a similar feeling because it's small on the outside and it's narrow. When I sit in it and drive it I don't realize the micro size but rather equate it with my old Beetle and I also mentally add an extra foot in the front and rear to it's miniscule dimensions. That's how I see it.
