Feeling the love @ the carwash

I've been going to a high-end, hand car-wash for about 15 years now. Lots of Benz, Porsche, etc. Can't tell you how positive folks have been about my smart. More than that, they are just overjoyed when I tell them about how great this car is. Point is, this car flat out makes sense and total strangers are as thrilled as I am that something that makes so much sense is equally good as well.

I can't help but think that the distictiveness of our smart, distictiveness that draws attention to it like no other car I've owned, is a huge plus in showing the public another option besides bigger is better. You just can't help but notice it. This car continues to impress me and put a smile on my face every day I drive it (which is going on 3 months now). I am so thrilled to be part of this "smart-revolution".

Yep, I took mine to an AUTOMATIC car wash every Saturday for the last two weeks I've had the car. First week the kid that was the "button presser" was frantically calling his boss before I pulled all the way up to see if the wash would break the car or if it would fit.

Week 2, owner/manager was actually there running the place (this is a classy autowash) came running over while I was doing a prewash. As he was walking up I told him, "I know it'll fit because I was here last week". He said, "No, I heard about this last week and had to see it." then proceeded on with the same old questions.

We'll see what happens tomorrow........

It was an added kick in the pants when another smart rolled up, just as they were finishing up with mine.

hmmm....can you get 2 Smarties through the automatic car wash at the same time and only pay for one wash?
There's just tons of ways to save with the Smart car...LOL
I know...probably won't work, but it's a fun thought

I was going to ask them if I can get a special rate for my smart car, but then again, they washed my huge 300 at a normal rate and that took forever to do. Guess my car-wash karma is balancing out here .

Daimler waited a long time to bring the smartie to us. Guess they thought it would never stand up against our monster cars. Little did they know. We're so happy with our smarts.

Exactly. You know, with my ex - which was a seriously bad-azz and attractive ride, I got tons of compliments from all across the board socioeconomically. But it was rarely like, "Hey where can I get that, I really want one for myself".

The difference with the smart I feel, is even though the compliments which are still all across the board - everyone is just so thrilled that is functions as good as it looks like it should. I've had Turbo 4S Porsche, S Series Benz, 7 Series BMW folks genuinely wanting to know where they could buy one themselves. Really a cool phenomenon we're part of here.
