importam, the problem with repairing smarts is the cost of parts since you can't find used anywhere. I will spend more than 2000 on parts for mine though part of that is because of damage caused at the auction facility. I made the mistake of not supervising the loading and they left off the hood, knocked off the rocker panels with the forklift, and worst of all smashed a carbon canister underneath that will set me back $375. Needless to say I was not a happy camper. On the other hand when I finish I will have a Smart at about 60% of what I could have bought one for.
