I agree and after the plastic reaches flash point, a dry chem class AB, extinguisher isn't going to put it out. The Halon might if you could flood the passanger compartment and displace all the oxygen. My guess is that even that would only be temperary and it would flash over again.
Anyone have any auto fire experience?
Funny video of Pimped Lada on fire. It is starts around 1:20 mark. It is funny how they used the beer to extinguish it. (Good thing that they did not use the vodka.) They finally got extinguisher at the end. This video shows how effective fire extinguisher against small gasoline fires. If they did not have it, car would probably burn to the ground.
The tailgate storage compartment gets *very* hot -- especially in stop/go driving.
I just got done with more than an hour's worth of driving a combination of city streets and an 70-80 mph highway. I opened the rear compartment as soon as I parked, and it was barely warm.
