OK, I didn't post yesterday as I was on my way to pick it up. Al I knew was that it was the same color as my original one, and same model except it was a 2009. When I got there, I found out it was BRAND NEW!! with 11 miles on it!!! The guys up at Bloomington Smart Center had added my old radio (radio9) and even swapped out my wheel covers!! After we got the paperwork out of the way, Joe gave me a tour of the car. Most I already knew but it never hurts. My original car was purchased from the previous owner so I didn't get the introductory tour when I got it. It's like getting a new car all over again in less than a year!! The interior colors are a little different but that is no big deal.
Through the whole ordeal, the people at Bloomington couldn't have been more helpful or nicer. They kept me informed as to what was happening and were genuinely interested in getting me back on the road. With the latest increase in fuel prices, Well let's just say I'm glad I have a Smart to drive. I'm sure there were a hundred people working on this that I never heard about and I do want to thank them.
If I was at any other brand of car maker, I'm sure I'd still be arguing over the price of the towing. When I decided on a Smart, I took a chance on an unknown company (at least to me) and I was right in my choice!!
Not too sure about a flame paint job, but my son suggested a small flame decal on the door to commemorate the old car. I think when I get 10 flames on the side, I win a toaster.
On the way home, I had a kid in a 4wd Toyota tell me it was a "Bad Ass Car". That threw my son over the edge. He laughed at that. I told him it was the wheel covers. I might have it broke in for the rally, but you never know.
Thanks again to everyone at Smart, Mercedes, and especially up in Bloomington (Minnesota) You people are the greatest.
