First 2009's Hit the U.S.

The INDEPENDENCE II has docked in the Port of Baltimore, carrying the first (I believe) 2009 Smart cars. I was fortunate to configure a 2008 but my VIN indicates an '09 model. Blue Passion Coupe with everything.

My dealer estimates the car will arrive here in Minnesota on November 12 and I'll take delivery a day or two later.

Finally, the end is in sight.

Anyone see a problem with this besides me! Enjoy your car! At least mine will always look like it has low miles!

Looks like there advatages on the right coast over the left coast. Of course I'm in fly over country.

does this mean that those who were told we were getting an 08 may be getting an 09?

if your car has not set sail then you would get an 09. Mine was one of the last 08 of the production line and I pick it up from the Smart center in 7 days. They started making the 09 model about a month ago. Most of the 08 should be handed out in the next couple weeks, then all 09 after that.
