First Fifty Fillups

I just filled up for the 50th time since purchasing the car in early May. I've obsessively recorded a lot of data for those gas station visits.

My over-all gas mileage has been just over 44.5 mpg, but it's clumb up in recent months from about 42 mpg (fillups 1-20) to about 46 mpg (the 30 next fillups).

I've averaged putting in 7.1 gallons per fillup. My avg gas cost has been $4.03, tho this will be quickly dropping now that I can fill up in Joisey for under 3-and-a-quarter! I've also avg'ed driving 315 miles between fillups, with a few tanks of 400+ miles.

and total miles traveled is???

You just made me count my tanks....guess how many??

On the 11th, last time I filled up....TANK #50! MPG's per tank have bounced all over the place with a lifetime average of 43.34 and my latest 90 day average of 43.37. Cheapest I paid for gas was this latest tank at $3.299 though it will be cheaper next fill-up. Cost per gallon for first fill-up on 4/26/08 when I got the car was $3.739. I'm at around 15,800 miles.

Cool Info

So you have purchased How many gallons and how many miles have you driven? That will also give you a crude MPG.

I forgot to mention that my overall miles come to about 15,800 now, too! The only reason my mileage is higher than Bee is that I prolly put more miles on a tank before refueling.

NJ premium gas is now under $3.20!

I filled up my gas at a Shell station in central NJ. The price for premium was $3.45 per gallon. It might have gone down since due to falling gas prices.

I normally fill up at around 300 to 350 miles - it varies. Actually I'd have higher mileage if I went less miles per tank and filled up more frequently. It used to be that way with my Honda Insight, my first 100 miles on a tank I'd do around 110 mpgs then once I got more miles on the tank it would drop down to around 70mpg's. A lot of my driving is on a non high MPG friendly road. My mileage is significantly lower when I go on this particular stretch every day.

40+ fillups for me so far. 10535 odometer miles divided by every drop purchased since I drove it off the lot averages 40.47 mpg. Odometer checks a little over 2 percent low (100 odometer miles = 102.4 on the mileposts) so the actual mileage is 41.4...... not too bad.
