I would be interested in learning if anyone has purchased non-smart mats that fit well off the shelf. If so, where were they purchased and for how much?

I went to Walmart and bought a set of Super heavy duty rubber ones. They have the deep channels perfect for holding rain/snow. I used the smaller ones that normally go on the rear floor, and set them ontop of the engine shelf. The passenger one fits great, and I had to cut the section away that would cover the brake and gas pedal. I was able to cut it and leave the "flap" on the left side to run up where my foot rests. The mats have a Honeycomb pattern which fits the yellow/black smart I have. As a bonus, I used the cut away section as a liner for my storage pockets on each side of the steering column.
For the 2 mats up front and the 2 small ones in back acting like a tray-came to $26.00

But yours don't have the little sperm symbol with no tail that my smart mats have....
Seriously how do hold the left side flap up? The $49 smart mats have the self threading plastic screw and mating hole to hold the flap in place. I started with WallyWorld stuff in Jan when I got my car, but got fed up with it falling under foot all the time.

I was looking for a plush, deep-pile carpet mat to help soften up the interior and ordered a pair from www.matdepot.com. They are black with gray trim, no logo, very soft, and cost $73 for the front pair.

We bought some that are on coupon special at Costco. The driver's side one we cut one the groves that it naturally has then used the cut piece to go where you put your left foot. They are heavy enough they stay in place and work great for $14! I'll try to get some pics tomorrow.

These are $28 rubber mats from an auto parts store. I trimmed the driver's side with a pair of regular scissors, leaving it high on the left side of the pedals. Cheap, effective, and I get a ton of compliments on them.
