New Race Course May Help Halt Street Racing - Central Florida News 13

Along with the news regarding the 1st Smart squad car here in Central Florida, News Channel 13 also reported that they are trying to stop kids from 'street racing' . They have set up a road course where you can go, even late at nignt, and do your racing in a safe environment.

When you watch the video, they take you on a tour of the road course in a S M A R T ! ! ! ! !

I rented a Mustang on vacation in 2007. Convinced me I don't want to own one.

Of course, that wasn't a convertible. Maybe that'd make the difference? LOL

That video really is great! Kinda bizarre that they featured a smart so prominently in a 'street racing' video.

I'm sure you're probably joking, but I imagine that rental insurance agreements have a clause where you're not covered for damage done in a race, am I right? Otherwise, everyone would do it.

Yeah, sure. Kinda doubt Budget Rental PDX had one though, LOL. The car below was my rental.

It was ok, I reckon. Too big for my taste though.

Back in the day of the first series of Hertz rental Shelbys, someone I know was involved in renting a mustang and sedately driving to the race track where the engine was pulled and placed into a race car in place of a damaged engine. The race was run, and after a second place finish, the engine was returned to the rental car and sedately driven back to the rental office. So, all rental mustangs aren't so bad, at least until after they are returned.
