Fog lamps and alarm

I was thinking of getting the fog lamps and alarm options. Are these two items worth getting?

yes Because it will cost you twice the price if you do it later.

I love the alarm, how it will detect someone reaching inside the vehicle if a window is left open. I am not paranoid enough for something more sophisticated like LoJack.

Can't see the value of fog lights, I have never had them on any vehicle I have owned and found that low beams are good enough. I have driven in some really hairy fog where I was far more concerned about someone rear ending me rather than having enough forward visibility (just slow down).

Alarm for sure, can help you lower your insurance rate a little and with the smart being so little it may discourage tipping or rocking of your car.
Fog lights are up to personal preference, if your night vision is not very good any extra light you can get should help, in the fog they don't always help.

At least in the short-term, a regular alarm will be more than enough. There shouldn't be a huge black-market for parts, and the car will be plenty visible to police if stolen for a joy-ride.

I decided against the fog lights, I had a set on a Honda CRX I once had and was not impressed, especially in the fog

Consider both, because they are not available as a Dealer installed option. IMHO Factory Alarm, definently get it!!!

So subjective... If you want them they are worth it - and I want them

I find fogs useful all of the time - like headlights sometimes they need adjustment or a change of bulbs to be ideal.

Maybe in a small town an alarm might work, but who pays any attention to one going off in the big city? Cars are stolen every day from parking lots in broad daylight with alarms blaring and people walking right by.

Had a co-worker who left a sign inside his window...Beware of Snake in Car. Never had a problem...just got a lot of nervous laughs.
