I didn't pick them in configuration because I didn't even know it was an option. I'm a bonehead, I didn't realize there were sub-tabs for interior/safety, etc. So I also missed the alarm option. Oh well. I might just get an orphan anyways.

you may not have been a bone head....as pointed out here a week or so ago, there is a bug in the confirmation system that removes the tabs for the foglamps (as well as the clock and tac pods) if you had selected leather seats from the color and interiors page.
(last I checked it still wasn't fixed!)

Aren't fog lights wired in such a way that they are "on" only when low beams are "on" too? In wich case, one will be seen anyway. Originally, fog lights were meant to replace low beams but at a lower level, closer to the ground, in order to avoid the glare. In most case, drivers turn fog lights "on" just because they have them.

It seems as if all the options from the factory are exorbitantly priced if bought after the fact. $110 for lights that are then $300+, radios that are $300, then cost $800. I am so thankfull that I loaded mine up with every options.

I don't care who makes the car. If it isn't installed as an option at the factory, you are going to pay dearly for it from the manufacturer. This even goes with body parts. Why do you think there is such a market for stolen cars. You can make three times the price in parts as you can on the car as a unit.

I would have actually expected the driving lights to cost more than that. The replacement units for my Mazda are a lot more expensive. BTW, I don;t see many cars on the road with fog lights. A lot of them have driving lights though. ;)

Do these Hella fog lamps fit in the holes in the new panels that you can get from smart?

Holy cow!?! I DID order the extra instruments and fog lamps when I configured, along with leather seats. Then I thought I screwed up when my car didn't come through with them. (Not likely I would have made that mistake, since I was diligent about reviewing it.) Have not yet seen any documentation of this glitch, but will definitely find it and pursue this matter through smartusa.com. THANK YOU for mentioning this, since I didn't see any prior thread on it. Thank you.
