Went to Costco this weekend and got a great spot right up front. When I returned to the car, several people were standing around asking me if Costco was now selling the car and how could they get one. It was also funny that they had my flyers in their hands. As I think of it, it looked like someone was holding a car class and everyone was in attendance. People are funny!

We've taken our smart to Costco a few times and people ask how we are going to get our cart full of groceries into the smart car. Then we load it up and go home while they stand there with their jaws dropped!

I heard a very strange muffled siren noise at home. After walking around the house for a few minutes I realized it was the factory alarm on my car parked outside and quickly turned it off. My wife walked into the room and said "did you hear some kind of strange wailing sound off in the distance?" Now we know what the alarm sounds like. Nobody was bothering the car and I have no idea why it went off.

Guy came up tonight and asked about the car. He said he wasn't surprised that it was by a German company, and he knew it wasn't Jewish - "it obviously had been circumcised...."

The Dodge dealer

Wife has a Dodge Grand Carivan that was having a auto door lock issue. She drove the car to the dealer to get it worked on and I followed in the Smartie. I parked across from the work bays at the dealer while she went in to do paperwork. One of the repair persons saw the car and within a minute I had 8 or 9 repair and body shop men all around the car, and no one was fixing any Dodge products. this went on for about 10 minutes as I answered about a hundred questions. Wife came out and said " Move around I am going to drive home I want someone to pay attention to me."

We have assigned parking here and when I came home from work late last night, a very nice person was parked in my spot... So, i was mad cause people don't care here, they take what is not theirs... So I was driving around trying to find a place to park my car and decided to park and squeezed my car in between the fence and the walkway. So this morning, I go to my car and I had this pretty little handwritten note from the groundskeeper saying: " Just because you have a tiny little car ( and it looks cute in this spot ) doesn't allow you to park here. Please park in your assigned space." So I took the note and put it on his car saying " I know huh? doesn't it look cute in this spot? You are jealous cause your fat F-350 doesnt fit in there ;) Now please put a notice on the car parked in # 70 so that I can look cute in MY spot. "

I was dropping a freind off Monday after lunch. Was waiting at a red traffic light to turn left. There was a police officer assisting pedestrians crossing the street. Me: roof open, on the cell phone...

All of a sudden the officer runs up and knocks on the driver's side window. I roll down the window thinking "Crap, what have I done now?"

Officer smiles really big and extends his hand to shake mine saying "I just want to shake the hand of the smarteset guy in Atlanta. If everyone drove a car like this we would be much better off." Then he walked away shouting at all the people lining both sides of the street and other drivers with their windows open and pointing at me "That guy is the smartest guy in Atlanta."

NickpikeTX, I had the same situation happen to me too at VW. My daughter and I know the Service Manager real well so we decided to swing by to let him look at the smart. Well, not only did the service and parts techs come out to see my smartie with the top down, so did all the salesfolks, the GM and the customers. You would have thought there was a fire inside the VW dealership the way they abandoned ship. I have never seen a dealership emptied out to look at the competition. I was definitely feeling like a rock star! Yeah Baby!! Regina

We stopped by the Ford dealer for my husband on Sunday to look at a truck and a lot of the salesmen came out to sit in the car and take a look. Today I was at a busy traffic light and was jamming to some music with the window down and this women tapped me on the arm. Scared me half to death. She had left her car at the light in another lane to ask me what I was driving, where did I get it and how much. I told her quick and she ran back to her car.
