After about 10 hrs of responses Ill say
1-3 = a spec of smart
4-10 = a smattering of smarts
10+ = a swarm of smarts

Over here in Blighty we have a sweet called smarties that come in a cardboard tube, so we call a convoy of smart cars a tube of smarties, and if we organise a meet we say would you like to tube down with us or go on your own.

So I say it is a tube of smarties.

Here are my findings:

Ø A group of lions, usually consisting of up to a dozen related adult females, their cubs and juveniles, plus from one to six adult males

Ø The happy satisfied feeling somebody experiences when having or achieving something special that other people admire.

Ø A haughty attitude shown by somebody who believes, often unjustifiably, that he or she is better than others.

Ø Something such as an achievement or possession that somebody feels especially pleased and satisfied with.


Ø To obtain personal satisfaction and pleasure from a particular source, especially something accomplished or a quality possessed.

All of this fits ownership of a smart.

I vote for PRIDE to be designated the proper name for a group of smarts.

I like "litter" - it sounds like cute puppies.

"swarm" describes the bumble bee contingent of a smart meet. They usually hang out together and try to lead the drive.

"smidgen" is a cute word, but doesn't it mean a very small amount?
