garage

What I really need is the total with of car including mirrows.The book I believe only gives the main body size without mirrows.

You'll need more than clearing the 'mirrows' unless you have a cabrio and don't need to open a door to get in and out.

But if you have a coupe and do the button mod described in another thread (Wanted: Button Bank Modification) and the seat mod described elsewhere (Mod the factory smart fortwo seats), you could in theory park your car in there and escape through the rear hatch. You might sprain a few muscles doing it, but it seems doable.

Or you can just lower the rear hatch before you drive it in there (a lower tech solution).

A garage that small would require the addition of a side door large enough to allow the Smart's driver door to be fully opened. A good handyman should be able to make that modification.

My local BJ's had a shelter on display made of plastic panels that looked smartable.
I always planned on going back with a tape measure but haven't.
