Gas cap holder?

Anyone notice that the fuel door has a cut out and notch to hang the gas cap while fueling? Keeps the cap from touching the panel.

It had me baffled in the beginning too... Actually, it clips on at the top and hangs. The "U" shape cup out clears the threads on cap.

Take your time when you hang it - it sits on there easily. Took me a few tries to get it but now I hang it there every fill-up.

I knew about it the first day I got my smart, but lost sight of its use and forgot all about it. At 8 gals a fillup, there just wasn't enough time for the cap to get into the holder snugly!

What, they have personal attendants still in the state at every station? or is it against the law there to fill your own tank?

I think I would hate for the guy to fill my tank if he/she does not know they are supposed to not TOP IT OFF. Just a thought.
