Geico insurance information...

I called our local Geico insurance representative yesterday about switiching our insurance over to the Smart vehicle when it is delivered (now that we have received the "offical" it's on it's way call from our dealership call). I was told that Geico will only cover Smart cars with vin #'s beginning with: WMEEJ..., WMEEK... or WME450. Maybe this information might help those covered now by Geico or considering them on down the road. Now maybe I can find out our vin # for our vehicle soon??? Good luck !

I don't want to start another insurance thread - but I can verify that last night I purchased full-coverage insurance for my forthcoming Smart Passion from Geico. I live in New York City, and they blew away the rates of the every other company I called. I did have my VIN number, and it is one of those listed in the post above.

So, it seems they're covering these vehicles. They certainly weren't the last two times I called. I'm glad they finally came around.

I wonder if that means they will not cover a 450 but will cover a 451?

WME450 is the 450
WMEEJ is the 451 pure & passion
WMEEK is the 451 cabriolet
