Thanks for rubbing the salt in the wound Woody!

Haha, I'm not actually upset...I didn't realize the top open button was on the key! That's pretty cool!

I bought one of those aluminized windshield things to put on the roof.
Before cutting it up, I tried using it as designed.
It was JUMBO sized and perfect for the height and had so much width, it went 1/3 over each side window.
Results were lackluster and when not in use, took all the space I didn't.
Still not wanting to chop it up, I folded it in half and stuffed it up over the sunshade.
It fit almost perfectly and the results are much better than when it covered the windshield.
A/C works much better when on and a open window worked fine in 82 degree weather.
That wouldn't have worked last week.

My round collapsable windshield sunscreen installed between the polycarbonate roof and the sunshield was not doing enough so I tried this silver reflective bubble wrap (27" x 35"). As you can see from the picture, I can still trim the back.

Will using the reflective foil items cause any harm to the poly roof?

as I've said many times before, smart dropped the ball when they didn't make the polycarb roof mirrored, and didn't offer a pop up roof panel to let all the hot air escape, and allow the blower motor to work more effeciently. and yes ,I think the filter restricts the airflow into the cabin too much, and also notice if you crack the window a little the blower/airflow into the cabin is better. I also notice that even parked in a garage overnite, the smart cabin air is higher than the ambiant garage air temp the next morning. probably from heat from the engine compartment sneaking inside

To be honest, now that I look back at all the work I did for this summer, and the complaints made about how it gets warm inside...well it is 0 degrees outside according to my thermometer. When I get in my car on a sunny winter day, it helps alot!

Now you know why I bought a totally black Cabrio, with leather interior. In the winter (which is 6 to 7 months up here) I have a nice warm car most days. In the summer, I have a button to pop the top before I even reach the car on hot days. No roof = quick cool down on 80 - 90 deg days.

A lot of members swear by them. Personally, I've been using this one for the last 1 1/2 years. Very easy to use, durable, etc. If/when it wears out, I'll buy another.

I have one and it works great. Made a huge difference when we were hitting 107deg this summer.
