I've got a little over 600 miles on Gidget now and I'm starting to have an issue with the transmission. When shifted into the automatic mode, it's hanging in 1st gear even with little load on it ... and again in second. I've found that shifting from automatic to manual and back to automatic gets the tranny shifting normal again. Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm going to experiment a little more before Gidget goes into the shop to see what's up.
Sorry to hear about Gidget.
Mine's over 1K now with no issues. During the cold mornings (10 degrees) here, the trans holds gears longer until warmed up, but my Jeep does the same thing. I think thats programmed into the controller. Be sure to keep us informed.
Good Luck

Interesting.. I would take it in to your smart center and have a tech drive it for a second opinion.
I would assume that smart USA has put thousands of miles on their vehicles and should likely have the best understanding of the transmission's actions.

My 450 does the same when it is cold. Once it warms, it shifts sooner without issue.
Please send our best to Gidget and wish her fast recovery, hehe.

Reason: Needed to
I find when I first start in the morning, I manually shift and as I get to the stop sign ( a few 100 yards from my house) I'll switch to auto, it downs shifts in auto and works fine from that point on.
WOW something in common between the 450 and 451, Glad to see I'm not the only one.
