I get my permit tomorrow! and hopefully my restricted lisence in April and my full lisence my 17th birthday. Maybe by then i can get the car i want and the car I know I can afford on my own. My parents call me a 'money mizer' cause i never spend any of the money I earn.
Thanks again for your replys. Really appreciate it. Anything else about a first car would be great. I definitly need one that i can learn on!

Like I've posted before, I'm training on my mom's fully-loaded Envoy, if I wreck that thing, she will hurt me.
-I'm now tending to drive like her now. But safer & slower
-Her record has only 1 accident, 4 years ago. from there on, 40 years of clean driving, not even a speeding ticket!
-My dad's record, has a ton of crashes and tickets logged into it. My favorite one is the one where he rode his moped into an open manhole in Germany.
While living there in the Army (off duty at that moment) he was going for a ride when he came up on a surprise open manhole. He ended up suing the German road Department for the damages and injuries.
-Back on topic: Downgrading from a mid-size SUV to a subcompact is great for a new driver because they already had experience with large vehicles and blind spots. This also comes from my instructor and a local police officer.
QUICK QUESTION?: what's the permit age up there, I got mine on september 6 and I will be picking up my "restricted" license this coming May. lucky you, you have less strict laws.
P.S. If this applies to your state, you can't get financing yourself until you're 18, that means that the car's financing will have to be in your parents' name/s
