Is this a good deal from the dealer add-ons?

I just got a call that an orphan Cabrio is avail at my local dealer. He said it has the comfort package and the following items have been added: RISL wheels, Floor mats, All Weather mats, Chrome Package, CD storage system, and a Cargo Tray... grand total: $21,208 + tax and tags.

What do you think?

What are RISL wheels anyway?????????

The Chrome package is Blah, but thats my personal opinion, I would go see the car before you give the ok. Enquiring minds would like to know what RISL wheels are.

yeah... the dealership is an hour away from me - so I can't just run over and look at them - and I can't find any reference to them anywhere on line.... so I have no idea. Dealer wants a deposit over the phone - says car will be gone by afternoon if I don't take it.

Yeah, Yeah... I'm sure he screwed it up. Funny thing is I just went to that site and you can actually see the rims on the car (you just select it) **- and they looks almost like the original wheels do... I don't see an improvement! They are $138 each on that site... kinda hard to justify the total package increase of $2500.

One other question then... I know the size of the original tire is oddball... does using the wheel do anything to that? In other words, did they just take off the original tires and mount them on these rims or are the tires NOW a more standard size that might be more readily avail?

My guess is if they'd added different tires you'd see that in the price of the "extras."

A lot of times the dealers will put a tag on the car listing all the extra stuff they want you to buy, but they haven't really put it on the car yet. So if you refuse the extra junk forcefully they don't make you purchase it. Now with the Smart dealers maybe they have so many buyers that if you won't buy it with the extra stuff they will just sell it to the next guy. My .02
