I put 60 miles on the car tonight, and it is IMPRESSIVE. Rock solid, it's a tank and the build quality is 100% Mercedes. That was the biggest surprise for me. The manual mode transmission is fun to wind out, and it gives you a sense of more speed than you need. I was wrong about the sun visors... they DO swivel... but good luck unloosening them. The leather on the seats has great stitching, and the leather is obviously higher quality than on a Japanese counterpart. The materials are extremely good throughout, IMHO. People just gawk and gawk, and smile every time. This car is so easy to love that you just want to grab the keys and go. The stereo is very good. The passengers I've taken around already cannot believe this car, and everyone has said they want one, too. It is really amazing that all these features could have been packed into this car, with this quality, for $15,000. What a dream come true. I hope everyone has such a good first impression.

Congratulations! With regards to the stereo comment, which one did you opt for?

I don't recall seeing "cat" on the smart configurator ... Good to see he's as excited as everyone on this board too. I'm sure he got a ride along with all the neighbors. Have fun!

It's been said that the aroma of a new car is hypnotic. Case in point your hallucinating that your red seats are leather.

Enjoy your smart. BTW are you a "Rooter" for cats?

I think Steve has the silver/silver/black car in the first post; Derek's red car is in the photo with the red seats and feline option.

I do have a question, did you get the dealer to enable the daytime running lights?
