For the record, the photos are NOT of my new smart. To answer the question about which radio, it's the 10. Did a lot of testing of the sound tonight with as many symphonies and operas that I could find with extremes. The subwoofer is strong, distortion is very low, speakers held up nicely, and clarity/fidelity was outstanding. I think most people will be happy, and the iPod connection in the glove compartment is where it should be.
Here's a tip I learned. When you open the engine cover (below the trunk), you may have trouble latching it. If so, the trick is to apply pressure to the cover while turning the latch screw. Otherwise it may not to latch securely.
It took NO time at all to get used to the transmission, and it operates very smoothly up/down. I can't foresee using it in automatic mode often, except maybe in rush hour freeway traffic. The paddles are very convenient.
The suspension and seats have exactly the firmness that I prefer, and much more so than Japanese cars. I rate the comfort as excellent.
Everyone gawks, and they'll chase you down to ask questions.
Pick up some paper floor mats before you leave your dealer because they haven't received most accessories yet, and you don't want to get your carpet dirty or worn.
I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!!!! Day #2.
Tomorrow will be a big outing, and maybe I'll stop by the gas station to get a preliminary read.
I love the way the Radio 10 plays MP3 files from a data CD (not so for the Radio 9). Hours and hours of tunes on one disk! Turn up the base and the sub below your butt for some fun <vbg>.
Same deal with the mats, get something cheap until the real ones come in.
Break in note from the owner's manual. Just be gentle for the first 1000 miles. No driving 90 mph, vary speeds, don't floor it. First oil change at 10,000 miles.
If thats what the manual says, I KNOW I'm gonna' love this car! Does it come with synthetic in it?
Don't know what the factory loads in France. The owners manual is silent on oil and filter other than "ask your dealer." I will, next year!
Here is scan of Maintenance Log. The first scheduled maintenance is at 10,000/1 yr, second at 20,000/2 yr, and so on. To make it easy to scan, here are 20K and 30K. 10K is the same as 30K, 50K, 70K, 90K . 20K same as 40K, 60K, 80K, 100K.

It makes my house look bigger, too.
These are the posts I've been waiting for! Keep the info coming, it only feeds the anticipation. And yes, any negatives as well. We might as well get all opinions so we can make up our own when we get them. Thanks for continuing to post after delivery. It must be difficult to tear yourself away!
