GPS System?

Is this something that you can get from the Smart Center! Can they but it in? How would I go about getting one? Thanks for your Help!! Brookville,Ohio

Check out this thread: Best portable nav?

Also, several threads in the audio/video forum about the in-dash nav units. I'm sure a dealer will be happy to have one installed for a few extra $$$.

Is there a radio with GPS built into it? That would be cool; IMO.

Just try not to ask them about it. They are not paid to answer your questions, just stock and check out. I should know. Im still earning back my soul after I sold it to wal-mart for 4 years of work.

First, decide what you want. In-Dash Nav, Portable Nav, Pop-up Nav, etc. You can look online at www.Crutchfield.com, www.bestbuy.com.

I would never buy a built in unit of anykind myself. I have too many vehicles. I like the fact that I have one unit, one price that I can use on any of my vehicles. I use the Zumo by Garmin....waterproof, vibration resistant, motorcycle mount, car mount, and I can easlily move it from car to bike to truck to rental car to rental bike.....whatever.....have used it in airplanes, hot air balloons, hiking, where ever.
If I had a built in unit it would only be in one car and it would not support any of my other activities.....and it would be more money for no more performance. Of course I feel the same way about my sateelite radio units too....one for everywhere....why pay extra subscription fees for each vehicle.
Only 600 more miles till the Arctic Ocean....

Posts about GPS still confuses me. Maybe it's just me but it's the simplest addons you can get for any car. The dealer doesn't have to do anything. You DON'T want them to do anything because they will charge you. You certainly don't want one INSTALLED in your car.

Just go to your nearest Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Frys, and get a portable Garmin Nuvi or Magellan, plug it in, mount it on the windshield, put in your destination and off you go.

You can get a very good one for under $300. Stuff with Bluetooth, voice commands and real time traffic re-routing will cost more.

The one I got for my GF is a Nuvi 200. I wouldn't travel anywhere without it.

I just got a Tom tom one 3rd v from tigerdirect.com for under $100.00. It is a refurbished one but it works great.
