yeah, who needs any standards!

(as soon as I read the post I knew some relativist would complain about someone *gasp!* actually articulating a lifestyle standard. gotta love the moonbats ).

Anyhoo, as for the thread topic, I actually did manage to get a raise this week, and I will have my smartie 2 weeks this Friday. my wife and kids are healthy (yes I was married before I had them! :P ), and Spring is here! some decent weather lately. all is good.

How about we start a "no problems I'm happy!" thread

I'd rather hear more of that than the complaints...

yeah, or start a sub-forum, and put it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down at the bottom for the whiners. that way, we can properly ignore them like we do in real life. lol!!

Sometimes the truth hurts...

But my happy though is that I graduate Saturday with my Master's Degree and the DDE moved my delivery date up six weeks.

From Oct 08 to August 21, 08

up as in sooner, or up as in later? people always get confused about this. heh. IIRC, you use "back" for later, and "up" for sooner.

capice?

Normally moving something up would mean sooner, but I see where your coming from. edited my original post!

Garage
While reading and smiling at the thread, I got a panicky e-mail from a friend who just got hacked in a major major way. At the same time, Gary, from scAlexandria, called to tell me that the car is "in". Picking up Saturday noon.
A bitter-sweet moment: I just lost $450.02/6mo. to Geico..., my friend is loosing his nerves, and I will have wheels for the first time in 6 years. Beware DC! I'll be on the road, and not on this forum (I think).

Do I dare say: Yesss!!

MinnySmart: That's awesome! Are you doing the Dave Ramsey thing? We did, and I can truly say, it works! It was just what we needed to make us sit up and pay attention.

I am happy because:
*Wonderful husband
*Great kids
*Four dogs and a passle of birds who are always beside themselves with joy to see me
*Great job with my awesome parents, my bestest friend, and customers whom I genuinely like
*good health (and improving as I slave off some of the extra weight)
*Daughter is engaged
*We adore our future son-in-law
*Daughter #2 graduates HS in a month and her being happy makes me happy
*Nice home
*My silly little yellow car
*My Ipod, which is like "happy in my pocket" and my laptop which give me instant access to friends in places that would have been beyond my imagination ten years ago. Belgium! Portugal! Japan! Singapore!
*I live in the USA. For all our warts, there is no better place in the world to live, and the more I "meet" people in other countries, no matter how lovely they are, the more I appreciate my own.

So I would be your Happy Happy Joy Joy X 10 person, because all these things make me happy.
