And now for something completely different...

It is nice to be positive and optimistic. I'm sure the people on the Titanic were feeling pretty good about life shortly before they got an actual dose of cold water. How come churches seem to get hit by tornadoes more often than strip clubs? The glass may be half full, but I'm convinced somebody peed in it anyway. How about those Enron execs taking care of their employees' pensions?

My motto: prepare for and expect the worst; if it happens, you're ready. If it doesn't, just wait awhile.

My mortgage is nearly paid off ($2500 left) NO, it is NOT a mistake; two thousand five hundred left on mortgage. No car payments (until my smartie comes in), no credit card debt, and a little extra to use at the casinos! Four terrific teenaged grandchildren, no drugs, no pregnancies.....life is good!

Lady Guinevere: The best secret of all is to live beneath your means. Jwight is 100% correct in saying prepare for and expect the worst; if it happens, you're ready.

Okay, my happy post: my first (as so far, only) private saxophone student passed his audition for his H.S. jazz band. Yeah!

I'm still happy the NY Giants smacked Dallas in the playoffs and then went on to put the number 1 in the Patriots loss column!

......and believe me, all of us in INDY are happy they did as well!!

as for my own 'HHJJ' experience, the wifey and i had a great day. went to a local flower and plant show, picked up some 'pretties' for our new rock garden, came back home to watch the Cubbies win, went to a movie (The Bucket List) and when we returned home, watch a snot nosed kid (Kyle Busch) put the most popular driver in NASCAR into the wall while trying to take the lead, only to lose the lead to someone else...so he STILL finished second. awe......

so yes, it was truly a "HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY" Day!!!!
