Harley riders are used to people gawking at them and their motorcycles. Yesterday, the table got turned.
I just got back golfing with a friend (that drives a Suburban). Afterwards, with my clubs and push-cart still in my Smart, we drove to this dive bar/restaurant for some lunch. I pulled into parking lot and here's 7-8 Harley guys/gals dressed in black leather. They all walked across the street to greet me before I even got out of the car.
In front of me, was a lady that was just getting out of the restaurant. I can read her lips, "OMG.....look at that thing". She soon made it over to join the crowd, which must have been 9 now. They all circled it I couldn't even see the car. I wished I had a camera to take a picture. It was priceless.
The usual questions followed. One of the Harley guy even knew about the Mercedes connection. They all had smiles on my faces. How often do you get a group of free-spirited Harley riders say that you have a 'cool ride'. It has never happened to me until now.
The other lady asked about my weird license plate and what it meant (GLFCRT9). I just pointed to the contents of my car. The Harley group got it, but this lady still didn't.
Those Harley bunch were a smart group.
