USAA told me i didnt have a long enough credit history to get their insurance or long enough driving record... funny, since it was long enough get approved for a prime mortgage with the market the way it is, and have been driving for 8 years.
i pay $140/mo for full coverage on a wrangler, cobalt, and homeowners with state farm... thats who ill be going with for the smart as well.
Didn't realize they had a credit history/driving record requirements. Just thought one had to qualify being military, dependent or recently sep'd. Guess I learned something new today.

thats what i thought too, but i guess my service to the country wasnt enough either. they wouldnt even give me a quote.
Yes, called State Farm and the smart fortwo was on the list. Insurance is $3 more per month than my 2002 KIA Spectra. So, about $53/month with $500 deductable and full coverage.
Also if it is available try Grange Insurance that is who I am going with when my smart arrives . The agent was already aware of the car and said just give her a call when I needed coverage.
