Has anyone done this ? (rev in N)

Has anybody done this accidentally or on purpose?
Held the gas pedal to the floor with the car in neutral and then pull the shifter into drive ? What was the result ?

Not to the floor, I haven't, but one time I did have it revved to maybe 2.5k RPM when I went from N to D, and it just didn't engage.
