Has anyone hit 10,000 miles yet?

Just wanting to hear from any higher mileage drivers out there about how their smart is holding up.

Nearing 5000 miles and so far problem free. Average mileage is between 46 & 48 MPG.

I'm getting close, should hit 10k within the next week or 10 days. No significant problems to report. It starts to feel a lot more comfortable after about 3-4000 miles.

I have 14,000+ miles on my smart, but I've had it for 2 years (G&K converted model). Only issue I've had is the A/C needs recharged each spring.

If you could tell us how you are getting those averages for gas, that would be great: speed, highway/city, etc.

That's impressive.

I'm at 7K and averaging near 50mpg.

It's all about how you drive Drafting bigger vehicles on the freeway helps, I'm sure of it.

I mozy along with traffic like everyone else. If the speed limit is 55, I go about 65 (no one goes 55 anymore). If it's 70mph, I'm at 65-70. I normally am not driving on the left side of the road passing people.

I don't know about drafting either. I don't know how you drive but I get a little uncomfortable tailgating a semi or a big SUV. Maybe it's a little more economical, but I can't say it's too safe.

Currently have 6,600 miles on mine. Getting around 49mpg. Still haven't broke 50mpg yet. May not when summer finally arrives and I start running the A/C. So far no problems at all. Planning a trip to Titusville, FL the week of the 25th. I'll see what mileage I get with that long haul.

10,000 miles today. Picked up on Feb 1st and mostly hi-way driving. One cracked windshield and tonight car was flatbedded to dealer with shifter linkage locked in park. Car has gotten over 50 mpg on 2 tanks and less than 40 on 2 tanks, the rest of time mileage 44 to 47 mpg. I keep shifter in auto and keep max speed to less than 70 MPG. I still like the car and still have fun driving it.

Thanks,...Alan Travis

Lucky peeps. I can't even hit 400 miles. It's been in the shop about 1/3 of the month I've had it. Someday this will pass and I'll at least get it broken in.
