Yes, just like the Mini Cooper, the Smart will "cause" a crash for those it distracts. It's not the car's fault, nor yours. I witnessed one in front of me as I was trying to turn out of a McD's. Driver's friend said, "hey look" and the driver looked. Driver in front stopped for a car that stalled while they too were staring. Whamo, fender bender.
