So i was curious to read how everyone found out about smart cars?
I know theres been no media commercials of them, from what ive heard.
did you see one on the road, and google it when you get home?
does a friend or co worker have one?

A friend of mine went to Germany in 1999 and bought me back a model of one. I wanted one ever since!

..read about it in one of my many car mags....found out about their tour...took a drive, actually I drove one my kid behind me in another and my bride finished the line in a cabrio...put my 99 down...11 month later we are smart people...

I saw a blurb on them from an international car show a few years ago. Saw one here in town, then a friend bought one (orphan) and I got to drive it. 2 days later I ordered, (July 08) 3 months later, I bought one off Ebay.

I went to Italy in O6 vacationing and loved the car. Actually visited a smart center in Rome while I was there. Took just as many pictures of Smart Cars as famous landmarks!

Saw the 450 in a number of episodes of 'Eureka' on the Sci-Fi Channel.

I've been following small cars on the internet for awhile. First heard of it back in 2002, around the same time MINI was selling cars in the states. I was disappointed that the smart car was not available to purchase at that time. I've kept up with the smart until last year when I found out they will finally sell cars in the states. I check smartusa pretty much on a weekly basis back then and when they were taking reservations in March, I was one of the first to reserve. Got my bumblebee in January and has been driving it ever since.

i saw one on the highway, took out my iphone and snapped pics of it. I was amazed, and felt like such a tourist. That day i went home googled "small cars" and somehow found the smart.

First trip to Italy in 2001 - totally annoyed everyone we were with everytime I saw one I screached: I love that car!! Ha! Only took 6-1/2 years! Love my car!
