When I was in Canada a few years ago I saw a smart. Loved it then, and in the movie legal blond 2 she drives a pink convertible one.

Rented one in Germany 2002. Still have his picture on my desk. True love at first sight.

When I first saw the smart

I was at the Cannes Film Festival in May, 2000, and they had a promotion with smarts in various locations throughout the town. I fell madly in love and wanted to buy one instantly (if not sooner). The price in USD then was $10,000 or 50,000 french francs (before the euro).

Then 8 years later they came to our fair country and boy was I excited!

I traveled to Berlin a few years back and saw one there and thought that it was a fantastic vehicle.

Took a group of twenty-one students to Europe last summer, and once in Paris, that's all we saw. I fell in love and decided I would order one immediately upon our return to the states.

One sunny summer day on the Central Oregon Coastal destination town of Lincoln City, stopped at a light, a blue cabrio pulled up next to me. I was smitten immediately, and told the driver it was absolutely the cutest car I'd ever seen, and asked what it was. He sniffed, "A smart." Undaunted, I asked who made it, and he actually rolled his eyes, and snorted "Mercedes."

While he was a rude twit, I don't hold that against all Canadians, and as soon as I got home, Googled "smart car" and kept falling in love with each picture, blurb, and bit of info. I put in my res. in the fall, after deciding I should be able to afford one in a year or so.

Became a shameless Orphan Beggar, got my sweetie the end of February, and have been a smilin' smartie ever since.

Perhaps one could get a Fortwo in crimson?

I heard that they had once considered a dracula theme park but it fell through. Perhaps they thought it would have been a 'pain in the neck' to do?

I saw them first in Europe in 2004 while on vacation there. As soon as I got stateside, I looked at how to get one, so we got on ZAPs waiting list for 2 years, and finally got our smart car in March 2006, one of the first ones they shipped out after converting it to meet US EPA/DOT specs.

I saw one in 2005 when I was 15 coming down a very steep hill, and I Google Image searched "small car", and it popped up. That's when I found out it was called a Smart Fortwo.
