Help!! Heat not working on SMART

Help!! Heat not working on SMART
HAve any one else experience this issue. I have 16,500 Miles on my Smart and I can not get the heat to blow warm air unless its turned all the way to max at 80-85. Even after the car is warmed up and has been driving for 30 plus minutes the heat does not blow warm/hot hair unless placed on max heat setting.

I plan to take it to the dealer soon for this issue is underwarranty but I wonder if any other owners have experienced this same problem on the new SMARTS?

Interesting point, though. What does the temperature control really do? Does it allow more hot water to flow into the heater core, or does it really just control airflow over/through the heater core?

Also, could there be something restricting the flow of hot water into the heater - kinked line, air in the system, etc.?

I don't need heat here (still in the mid 80's) and your smart is white. Want to trade?

PROBLEM SOLVED...
I beleive the issue was I was not using the re-circulating button so all the air comming in was cool and then the car was trying to turn that cold near freezing air into heat over and over .. Now I hit the recycle button and the air in the car is re-curculating so when it does get warm it takes less energy to keep blowing the same warm air into your car...I wish I would have thought of that sooner.

That still doesn't sound right. We have no problem getting heat when bringing in fresh air. You may have found a work around but I would get it to a dealer

Yeah...that does sound weird. I'm getting heat just fine after a few minutes of driving and it's 20 degrees at night. I do not have the 'circulation' button pressed. I only use that during the summer with the AC.

There's gotta be another issue. Have the dealer look at it and keep us posted.

It's in the 20's here and my heat works fine without the recirculation button on. I agree with the others that you have more going on and need the dealer to check it out while you're still under warranty.

Sounds like you're either low on coolant/air in line OR the thermostat is hanging open.

Let us know what the dealer says...
