Help! Looking for a seat belt sensor

After having my beloved 2009 Brabus for only a week, I was in an accident and "totaled" the front end - all the plastic parts had to be replaced. After 2 weeks, I was told the seat belt locking sensor also had to be replaced but was on "indefinite" international backorder. Does anyone out there have any suggestions or know of where I could help find one??

Well you'd might just have to wait for the part to come in. I have yet heard of any current model smart parts coming from anywhere but smartville.

Maybe some of the older guys could help (I'm 16 )

I was told the same thing about the '09-spec clutch unit when I had to have mine replaced a few months ago. As it turns out, the backorder lasted less than a week, so I wouldn't worry too much at this point.

Get the part number from your smart center. Post it here on SCOA and get everyone checking with THEIR local centers.

Surely one of the 75 or so dealers would have one in stock. From there, it's up to your smart center and the one with the part to work out a deal.

I'm sorry but an owner shouldn't have to find a part himself. SEVEN WEEKS? I'd get on the horn to smart usa and THEY should find the part and overnight it to your dealer. It's threads like this that perspective buyers read and then cross the fortwo off their lists... and to be honest, as an owner, this thread TERRIFIES me.
