Help us understand the "reservation / confirmation" process, please...
Think I've asked part of this question before, and if so, please bear with us. My wife and I really don't understand the process. Our reservation number is: 1011711210. We received a "reservation confirmation" e-mail dated Wednesday, April 25th, 2007. I guess that we are now waitting for a "confirmation" of our order which I understand that "our" number is: 1210? I think I had seen that 1206 was confirmed last Friday, November 30th, 2007 ??? If we understand this process, we should be approximately four places down the line saying noone had dropped out. We assume that we should be hearing from someone soon (or at least we hope so)? Another question too is; are we number 1,210 in the waitting list for orders and is that the number of orders (1,209) before ours? Just really trying to understand this process, please help us and believe me, we are nor trying to "stir" the pot. Thanks for any information that makes this process rather simple to understand.
The 1210 is only an unnecessarily obscure date code for 25 APR, the date you reserved. In the April timeframe there were likely over 150 reservations being made per day. The rest of the long number, the first six digits, is another unnecessarily convoluted time stamp, the time on the 25th that your reservation was registered. So, nope, you are far from four reservations from 1206 (maybe 900).
Correct me if I'm wrong but the time from reserving ($99) to confirming (selecting colors, options, etc.) the reservation has been running right at 6 months. So, if Nicholas reserved on 25 April he should have been contacted to confirm his reservation in October. Or am I missing something here?
Not really; the second "confirmation/configuration" process for the first reservers, the 1173s, didn't begin until recently (Sep/Oct maybe?). And at that, at a variable pace.
I don't have any numbers at hand, but I'm guessing they are contacting about 5 new numbers (dates) a week now?
It took them a several days to get through all the first day reservation deposits. They went slow at first to make sure the kinks were out. Each day has a different number of reservations going forward, so it may take more or less days to process confirmations.
