You will receive an e-mail from mysmartfortwo.com to let you know that you can now configure your smart. You will get a user name (your e-mail address) and a password. Make sure your spam filter doesn't block it!

With reservation #1210 you are very close! It won't be long now! Enjoy!

Yesterday's help for the comfirmation process question...

Thanks for all the information everyone but it is still rather comfussing... Thought we read that they were only processing three to five orders per day and these were only done on a Monday or Friday??? If that is the case, and there might be "900" ahead of us, seems as things just don't add up. Really sorry about all the questions, just trying to understand this process and the fact that SMARTUSA hasn't helped quelling any rumors on their behalf doesn't quite cut it either. I'm sure some will agree? The only good thing is that my wife and I both have good reliable vehicles so it is not a pressing issue, we are just courious...again, thanks for the help, it is greatly appreciated. We do wish that SMARTUSA would take the inherent responsibility and do what is right to lay to rest all the rumors. Yes, we understand there is a supposed upcoming newsletter, but as "insiders" with a financial investment (even though a dribble, I admit) we are SMART's advance indicators of a possible great market. Please treat us a touch better!

It would be a real service to us all if someone out there who has been through the confirmation process and understands it along with the do's and don'ts and "gotchas" could post this as a Sticky. That way when one's confirmation email comes they can go straight to the information they need to fill out the order.

If the "reservation process" actually started on March 17th and we reserved as of April 25th (according to our "confirmation e-mail") it is rather hard to understand how that many orders can be before us? I do understand that there is now supposebly 30,000 reservations (according to news reports) but tend to believe many were made after more people heard of the availabillty of this car in the USA and and most actually took the test drive offered. Don't believe that many people were that willing to take a chance on something that might be a just a "possibly" (but will admit that we did take that chance ourselves after actually looking at a SMART while in Canada but the wife wasn't completely sold on idea until she had a actual test drive in Alanta).

Nicolas, there is a month and more of reservations before you. Point in fact, you can consider yourself an "early adopter". Many, many more reserved after you. The process has only been going on for only a few months. Consider yourself fortunate. Many others didn't reserve as early. You will get your car before them.

JetJazz, I could walk you through the confirmation process, but why? When you receive the e-mail to confirm it will all be explained to you, and the actual order form is very easy to understand. Want to prepare yourself? Go to the smartUSA website, click on product, select your model smart and print that page. All the standard features and options and available colors are listed. Decide what you want, mark it and save it. When your request to confirm comes through just order the model/options/colors you want. It's that easy. There's no mystery to it. Enjoy!

Smart USA operator statement

I called Smart USA and the guy who answered told me that there was no way to know by the number when your car would be available. He said that everyone would get one by the end of 2008, but the number did not indicate how quickly your order would be filled.

I called my local dealer and the salesman said he had his reservation in also. He said they were told they would get approximately 250 units in 2008 at the rate of 20 to 25 a month.

I think it depends on the number of reservations in your area as to how fast you get your car and not your order in the overall line. If your local dealer has fewer reserved in your area, then you may get yours sooner than say an area with a large number of reservations.

Just my 2 cents after making a couple phone calls... ;)

My dealer will be receiving about 600 cars next year and has over 500 reservations. Since I live in a larger market, we have more cars/more reservations. More cars will arrive here than where you are. We should be getting our cars just about as fast as a less cars/less reservations market.

20% of the reservation came from CA according to the latest info. You dealer must be the largest one in CA. Sounds like it is getting 10% of the 20% (30,000 X 20% = 6,000, 6000 X 10% = 600)

Beverly Hills Mercedes tells me that the three Los Angeles dealers are getting a total of about 1800 smarts next year. No. Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Laguna Hills, around 600 each. They tell me they expect about 500 reservations each (and not all are confirmed as we well know).

Additionally, there are dealers in Riverside County (Penske Mercedes) and Santa Barbara with about 400-600 more between the two. So that's about 2400-2600 for So. Cal. that I know of, plus the San Diego and Northern California dealers.

LA is BIG!

here are my thoughts regarding res#s
a higher res # could get a config email before a lower res#
How you ask each dlr gets x#s of units/SHIPment. lets say Dlr A has its 1st res# as 1200 Dlr B has its 1st res#s 1173. remember a res# is assigned to a dlr base on where you live and no dlr is going to want sit open with no cars so the next question is. what was the last res # at your dlr What do you all think
